Dhaka Elevated Expressway extends from the capital's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport to the Hatirjheel (FDC) area, covering a length of 12.5km.
It provides a rapid connectivity corridor to vehicles in the north-south route, allowing them to bypass local traffic when travelling long distances across the city.
It is the first expressway to be opened within the city of Dhaka.

The expressway has a speed limit of 60km/h on the express lanes and 40km/h on the ramps.
Extension is planned for a further 7.5KM to the south, all the way to Kutubkhali in Dhaka-Ctg road via Moghbazar, Kamlapur, Sayedbad, and Jatrabari.
